Taipei, Taiwan (June 6, 2009) – COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2009 (also known as Taipei International Computer Exhibition), Asia's largest and world's second largest ICT hardware exhibition has lowered its curtain after successfully run for 5 days, which stirring up consumer's confidence and motivates business transactions for many local manufacturers as well as foreign exhibitors. COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2009 have maintained strong and stability with 1,712 exhibitors and occupied 4,498 booths, which thwarting off the major mishaps including wave of Global Financial Meltdown and Swine Flu, but had attracted thousands of international buyers and foreign visitors.
In the five days run, there were 34,900 overseas buyers came from 214 countries and the total attendances hit 118,000. The percentage increase of overseas buyers and the total attendance compared to last year was up by 1% and 4% respectively. The top 10 overseas buyers by countries in order United States, Japan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, India and Australia. The biggest percentage increases of buyers were China with 34%, followed by India with 18% and Australia by 10%.
During the exhibition, there were more than 2,000 meetings, which the total procurement of ICT hardware and services reached US$ 1.0 billion. Once again, COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2009 is the most important platform for exchange of information industry in the world.
